Peter now turns his attention to the Christian community and how it ought to act in light of the living hope that is theirs through the resurrection of Christ from the dead. He is encouraging these elect exiles to be a gospel-centered community. They are to be this sort of compelling community through their love for one another and their longing for God's word.
